Climate change failure inspires more members as CO2 prices jump 25%
April Progress Report
April's big surprises were the shelving of the ETS (Emissions Trading Scheme) in Australia and the European Union ETS strong price increase in carbon dioxide.
The 25% increase in the price of CO2 per tonne of European Allowances (EUAs) shows the power of a market based solution to increase the price of carbon dioxide based on the traditional economic rules of supply and demand.
Most encouraging was the support for Climakind as more people and organisations showed their frustration and concern for the future by cancelling carbon emission credits to reduce global carbon emissions and support a scheme to encourage investment in low-carbon solutions.
We congratulate our latest members for April that include Bassike and Taylormade G. It was encouraging to see that Fashion Week participant Bassike joined Climakind to show their environmental concern.
Lastly we address the issue of electric hot water in CERT 2 (Carbon Emission Reduction Tip 2)

The message from science is clear - we urgently need to act now to reduce global carbon emissions and help stop damaging climate change.
The evidence linking human carbon emissions to global warming is clear. We need to make deep cuts in carbon emissions in order to avoid the irreversible consequences of damaging climate change.
Those consequences become severe once temperatures have risen above 2 degrees Celsius. We must and can avoid this much warming.
