Member Type determines participation levels

Climakind has defined three levels of participation to more easily recognise the extent of a member’s efforts to reduce global carbon emissions credits. The three levels are Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each level indicates an increasing commitment to reduce carbon emission credits, and recognises the contribution you have made in the past twelve months.

* Indicates the minimum number of months of one year's worth of annual carbon emissions to cancel.

Member Types

The following tables indicate the participation amounts in each currency for these Member Types:

• Individual
• Family (0 to 1 child)
• Family (2 to 3 children)
• Family (4+ children)
• Businesses, Governments, Community Groups

Businesses, Governments, Community Groups

Participation for an organisation is more involved than for individuals and families. A calculation of annual carbon emissions is necessary because an organisation’s emissions vary significantly based on size and industry. However, Climakind maintains a simple and easily recognisable standard level of participation Bronze, Silver and Gold.

There are two ways to calculate an organisation’s participation. If you already know your annual carbon emissions you can use it, or Climakind can help you determine your annual carbon emissions through the EmissionsAware™ program or more simply with the Climakind calculator.

Following is an example calculation of carbon emissions using Electricity, Car Travel and Plane Travel as the three main energy sources. Using these values the Climakind calculator returned a total of 54 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.

Based on the annual carbon emissions of 54 tonnes the participation levels are:
